Bivels, a small village in the Nature Parc Our is situated about 3 km north of Vianden along a 7km long artificial lake.

The former farming village, considered in the past as the poorest village in the country, has changed into a real little jewel.

As the barrage was constructed in the early 60’s, the lower part of the village had to be rebuilt on an artificial plateau. Most inhabitants gave up farming and found a job at the power plant in charge of the barrage (SEO). The new houses and the church are nowadays situated on the shore of a 150m wide lake surrounded by woody hills.

In 1996 the former school found its new destination, a guest house, which is well equipped to receive hiker groups, tourists as well as workshops.
